Court Theatre Visit 3

Finally on the 2nd if June, I had my visit to the Court Theatre!! I arrived at 9:00 and met Christy in the foyer. She showed me around the whole theatre. I saw props, bits of set, the set of the play they're doing at the moment and dressing rooms. Finally we went to the costume bit and I met the costume people. I talked to Sarah, who said that they don't really have mush to do with prosthetic makeup but she's happy to help. I asked her where she got her inspiration from and she said some of the places she got inspiration from are from the script, directors notes, what the character thinks, time period and the internet. Then she took me up the the costume storage. Not very many people get to go in there so I'm really lucky. I saw a coat made out of ripped fabric, a leafy material that I liked, an old style dress that was cool, some big masks and some amazing headdresses. Here are some photos I took:

Sorry about the delay of this post. We had camera cord problems.

Court Theatre Visit 2

We've finally organised a time for me to visit the Court Theatre! I'm going on Thursday at 9:00 until 10:00. I'm really excited.

The main point of my trip is inspiration and a bit of makeup tips. I hope I get some good ideas.

First Contact.

Today I sent my first email! I was really nervous and had been stressing about it for a while and putting it off. Then finally today I composed and sent it! The email was to my classmate's mum, Christy, who works at the Court Theatre. Here is what I wrote:

Hello Christy,

For my Passion Project I am doing prosthetic makeup. Prosthetic makeup is where you mould and cast a face to make a rubbery foam mask. I am also probably going to do a costume to match.

I was wondering if I would be able to come to the Court Theatre some time to get some inspiration and tips. Would you be happy for me to come and visit an when would be a good time?

Thanks,
Isis.

I was really glad when it was over and now I feel much more confident.

An Update

For the last week or so, I've only been collecting inspiration and images. I printed them out and stuck them in my note book. Here's all the images that I used:

Most of these are natural and/or mythical, which is probably going to be the direction that I'm going to go in. All of these are from Face Off, except the last one from the court theatre.

I also printed off a load of face templates because as I said, I can't draw faces very well.

First Ideas.

In the weekend, I did my first sketches! I was inspired by the autumn colours as we were raking leaves in our garden. I like the colours in the leaves, like red, orange and yellow. Unfortunately I'm not very good at drawing faces (or people for that matter).
