My favourite idea

I've finished drawing/colouring my new idea and taken a photo. Unfortunately, it doesn't look nearly as good as it does in my head. Here's the picture:

Second Mentor Meeting

Today I had my second mentor meeting. It was supposed to be yesterday but Miss Fairhall was really really busy so it couldn't happen.

We talked about my ideas and next steps. I have a really cool idea that I like that is based on a book that I'm writing. I haven't drawn it yet so I can't put up a picture. Miss Fairhall said that doing something from the book I'm writing would give it a whole lot more meaning.

Christy and I are organising a time for me to go to the Court Theatre soon so I'm looking forward to that.

My next steps would probably be to keep generating ideas, the more the better! Also to contact someone at Weta Workshops and/or Minifies.

First Ideas.

In the weekend, I did my first sketches! I was inspired by the autumn colours as we were raking leaves in our garden. I like the colours in the leaves, like red, orange and yellow. Unfortunately I'm not very good at drawing faces (or people for that matter).

Final Decision!

On the 23 of march I made my final decision on what to do for my passion project!

My two ideas were to write a book and to make a prosthetic makeup. I chose to make a prosthetic makeup because writing a book doesn't really challenge me that much an I would probably do it anyway.

Prosthetic makeup is where you sculpt, mould, then you cast a face to make a rubbery foam mask. You then paint it to look however you want. Here are some examples:

These examples are from the t.v show Face Off. These particular ones are from series 7. That is where I got my inspiration from.
